monitoring an fd (and only that fd)

I'm using strace 5.16 (and earlier versions).

How do I monitor an FD for reads/writes (and only that fd) (without
resorting to post strace filters)?

(I've done various combinations with --read=<set> and --write=<set> (which
shows what I want) but I want to EXCLUDE
all others fds...
