Strace Output! Write to File!!

hi,

im,a postgraduate student from Malaysia.im doing intrusion analysis using system call pattern.Currently, strace is working fine.im using Redhat 7.3.when i :strace -c host -o /home/test,it supposed to write the output data into test file, but it failed.Is this the correct way to write the system calls output into a file?

Does strace by default writes a standard output file? where it is stored?

i hope i'll get help on this.....
