I don't get the original error but It still fails with a similar problem if I revert https://github.com/crosstool-ng/crosstool-ng/commit/3fa241a4e19e30e4850d5ea105b01c469a22fb02

this will only happen if using musl libc, glibc (and uclibc) are fine.
