What do you mean by "is not showing up"?
For me it shows up as a test that doesn't compile cleanly and fails.

How do you configure, build, and test strace?

You definitely missed --enable-gcc-Werror option which has to be passed
to ./configure invocation on any decent system for the purpose of catching
silly errors in the code.
