Looks like -n is currently not compatible with -p, compare e.g.
./set_ptracer_any ./sleep 1 & ../strace -n -f -qq -e trace=exit_group -p $!
and
./set_ptracer_any ./sleep 1 & ../strace -f -qq -e trace=exit_group -p $!
