I'd probably agree, but the most astonishing thing is that global
x86_64_regs doesn't work for me at all:

$ ./strace /bin/true
Segmentation fault

So I suggest to make x86_64_regs static for now, just to make HEAD work
again.  Meanwhile I'll try to investigate what's going on.
