Sort of, but this assumes you have a up to date autoconf on your
computer. Not all distos have updated config.sub and config.guess.
But I guess your the machine used to cut a release is quite up to date.
My need is to get avr32 arch into config.sub and config.guess.

I do autoreconf -i as stated in the manual. I can try a fresh checkout
to see how that behaves.
Yes, a fresh checkout only needs the AVR32 patch I posted in another
email. I use an Ubuntu 8.10 system to cross compile.

The strace-devel mailing list has a size limit of 40 kB (mailman
default). The patch I tried to attach resulted in > 40 kB email and I
was put on hold. Nobody seems to pass my email through, so I resent it
with the patch linked instead of attached.
