limit output file size

Hi all,
I need to strace a program  for a long number of hours. Possibly >24 . Now 
when the strace output file exceed two gigabyte strece stop and so on the 
program traced. How is possible to limit the size of the output file and when 
the file became bigger than a certain value reset it to zero dim and restart 
from the beginning?
